Adult Comic Platforms With Vertical Scroll

Vertical scroll comics are the reason a phone suits webtoons. Merriam-Webster defines a webtoon as a type of digital comic published online, formatted vertically, and released in episodes. The word comes from Korean weptun, in use as early as 1994, and the strip replaces the fixed page. Adult webtoon services that scroll vertically

The adult-leaning services are Toomics, Lezhin, TOPTOON Plus, Tappytoon and Manta. Toomics' App Store text says You'll never want to stop scrolling!, Lezhin and TOPTOON Plus are recorded as webtoon format, and Tappytoon and Manta list vertical series as well. INKR and BookWalker are broader stores that also carry webtoons: INKR lists a vertical-format webtoon shelf, and BookWalker sells webtoons next to manga volumes and light novels. Lalatoon and Honeytoon also sell full-colour vertical webtoons by their own descriptions, but their files leave the scroll field open because the reader was not opened, so they are left out of the table.

The scroll format tells you nothing about how adult a service is. The 18+ side is a separate matter: Tappytoon's Steamy and Uncut editions, Manta's full versions and Tapas's Mature section exist on the website only. The page on adult webtoon apps explains why the stores force that split.

Mainstream and mixed-audience readers

WEBTOON's Originals and CANVAS series are vertical-scroll, and it has a Mature rating, but its guidelines ban nudity and explicit sex. Tapas tells creators to format a series for its scroller setup and keeps its explicit Premium stories in a web-only Mature section; the site closes on March 31, 2027. MangaToon and WebComics carry licensed manhua and manhwa in vertical format, and Webnovel Comics offers chapter-by-chapter vertical comics. None of the four is an adult service. They appear for the format.

Page-turn or scroll for manga

Manga is made as pages and Japanese books read right to left, so a page-turn mode with a right-to-left setting is the natural fit. A webtoon is made as one strip, and a page reader has to cut it into screen-sized slices. Forcing a manga file into a continuous strip does the reverse and joins page ends to page starts. The readers below let you pick the mode per title.

The apps that read your own files make the choice explicit. Perfect Viewer lists three modes: Page mode, Vertical scroll mode (PDF viewer,webtoon like) and Horizontal scroll mode, with right-to-left reading supported. Mihon's release notes mention a long strip reader and a right to left reader. Kavita's built-in reader has a webtoon mode, a single-page mode and dual-page spreads. Panels, on iPhone, has a right-to-left preset for manga and a vertical mode that it says suits manhwa. YACReader has a manga right-to-left mode and continuous vertical scroll for webtoons.

One catch applies to CDisplayEx: the free Lite version lacks continuous pages, which are part of the Premium version, so a webtoon-style strip needs the paid one. Reading webtoons on a computer

A computer is where the adult editions are easiest to reach. Lezhin's full catalog is on its website, and Toomics, TOPTOON Plus and Honeytoon run their 18+ shelves there as well; Honeytoon has no store app at all. Manta tells readers who want a full version to open it in a web browser. Tappytoon says its Steamy comics are available on its website and mobile website. Tapas's Mature section is web only. Lezhin's Android PLUS APK is the one adult app in our files, and it is Android only.

There is one money wrinkle on desktop. WEBTOON's coins can be bought and used only in its app, not on the website, so a computer reader sees the free and ad-supported episodes but cannot unlock a Fast Pass episode. Services where coins are sold on the web, such as Lalatoon with separate web and app wallets, avoid the problem but split your balance.
