In short
- Free on their own sites: Oglaf (behind an 18+ click-through), Ménage à 3, Sticky Dilly Buns, The Cummoner and The Rock Cocks.
- One-off buy: Iris and Angel, a four-issue romantic comedy from Iron Circus; issue one is a free PDF, issues two to four are $5 each.
- Comedy tabs: Irodori Comics (DRM-free doujinshi), INKR, Toomics and Lalatoon on the adult side; WEBTOON, MangaToon, WebComics and Webnovel as mainstream shelves.
- WEBTOON bans nudity and graphic sex, so its comedy tab is not adult comedy in the porn-comics sense.
Adult comedy comics in six title files
In comedy, the independent webcomics are easier to recommend than the stores. The Cummoner, The Rock Cocks, Oglaf and the two Pixie Trix strips have been running for years, and all five are free to read from the first page. Money enters later, as books, bonus pages and chapters you can skip.
| Title | Made by | Status | Free | Paid |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oglaf | Trudy & Doug | Ongoing, weekly on Sundays | Full archive after an 18+ click-through | Books 1 to 4 at $24 in print or $13 as a PDF each, all four PDFs $25; Patreon; Book Five was funded on Kickstarter on October 23, 2026 |
| Ménage à 3 | Gisèle Lagacé and David Lumsdon | Finished, 1,512 strips in 10 volumes | Strips from the first one | Print volumes $9.99; digital on Gumroad and Kindle; colour edition on Patreon |
| Sticky Dilly Buns | Gisèle Lagacé | Finished, 336 strips in 2 volumes | Strips from the first one | Print volumes $9.99; digital on Gumroad and Kindle |
| The Cummoner | Totem | Ongoing | The webcomic | Paid chapters on itch.io at $5.99; digital volume one $9.99; Patreon; SubscribeStar |
| The Rock Cocks | Leslie and Brad Brown | Ongoing, Monday and Friday | The archive, 18 chapters | Bonus material on Patreon and SubscribeStar |
| Iris and Angel | C. Spike Trotman and Amanda Lafrenais | Four issues | Issue one as a DRM-free PDF | Issues two to four $5 each; bundle $12.50 |
The arithmetic is mostly for completists. All ten Ménage à 3 print volumes cost $99.90 at $9.99 each, while the whole strip is free online. Oglaf's four PDFs cost $52 separately and $25 as a bundle, so the bundle is less than half. The Cummoner's author says on the About page that the paid chapters add to the story but are not needed to follow it.
Two of these need a caution. We saw no 18+ gate on the Pixie Trix site, and we did not assess how explicit those strips are, so check before opening them at work. The strips' archive page answered with an HTTP 500 error on our visit, though the first-strip route worked.
How big the backlogs are
A webcomic with a long archive is a different purchase from a webtoon with ten free episodes. Ménage à 3 runs to 1,512 strips collected in ten volumes, and Sticky Dilly Buns to 336 in two. The Rock Cocks reached page 1236 by April 2026 and posts twice a week, which makes it the longest ongoing story of the six. Oglaf publishes one strip a week on Sundays and has no stated archive count. Iris and Angel is the short one: four issues, with the first free.
On the webtoon services the unit is the episode, and the free allowance is a few at a time. That suits a series you want to sample before paying and suits a weekly commute less.
Comedy on the stores
Irodori Comics is a small US publisher of licensed doujinshi, sold as uncensored, DRM-free English PDFs. Its tag list includes Comedy. About 14 titles are artist-approved free reads on the store, and buying the same title gets you the file, sometimes for $0.10. There is no subscription and nothing to cancel. Users in Japan are blocked from the uncensored editions, and the age check is a terms agreement plus an 18+ notice on every page. See the tag list for the comedy entries.
INKR is an app that mixes manga, manhua, webtoons and indie studios, with a comedy category and a gated Mature section (an 18+ click-through, then a sign-in). Free titles run with ads. INKR Extra is $4.99 a month on iOS and adds offline downloads and free rentable chapters; 80 coins cost $4.99 on iOS, and the file does not say how many coins a chapter costs. INKR was acquired by GlobalComix in March 2026.
Toomics and Lalatoon are sister webtoon services whose comedy ranking pages share a genre number (Toomics, Lalatoon). On Toomics the first three chapters of a series are free, sometimes more, and chapters cost 1 to 3 coins; a 12-month VIP item is $47.99 on the App Store list. Lalatoon charges 3 clovers an episode on the series we checked, which is 29 to 48 cents depending on the pack. Both put their adult editions behind an 18+ switch, and the Toomics app is an all-ages build.
WEBTOON runs the largest comedy shelf and its ORIGINALS are free on a weekly schedule. Its guidelines allow sexual themes and ban nudity and explicit sex, so its comedies run to innuendo. MangaToon, WebComics and Webnovel are not adult services at all; their comedy tabs hold licensed manhua and manhwa.
Paying the artist for adult comedy
Most of the money in this genre goes straight to the artist, and the routes are plain. Oglaf's Patreon page showed 2,845 paid members when we looked, and its book listing is marked adults only. Book Five went through a TopatoCo Kickstarter that funded on October 23, 2026: a $10 pledge got the PDF, $26 the book, and shipping was estimated for February 2027. The Cummoner crowdfunded a second printed book on Kickstarter and sold it at a convention in Łódź in September 2026; paper copies also go through Comicden.eu. The Rock Cocks asks for support on Patreon or SubscribeStar and gives backers pin-ups, early pages, bonus comics, PDFs and wallpapers.
SubscribeStar narrowed itself to fictional work in March 2026 and pre-screens posts, which matters if a strip you follow has moved there. The guide to supporting adult comic creators explains how to pick a route that actually pays the artist.

Cancelling a comedy subscription
Few of the comedy options bill you monthly. Toomics is the main one: cancel a web VIP membership in account settings with the Cancel VIP Membership button, or through the App Store or Google Play subscription page if you bought it there. Toomics support can cancel web subscriptions by hand but not iOS ones. INKR's public pages describe closing the account but not the subscription steps, so cancel Extra from wherever you bought it. The independent strips, Irodori Comics and Iron Circus have no membership to end.

Free adult comedy and where it stops
Five webcomics are readable end to end without paying, and Irodori Comics has its 14 free doujinshi. The webtoon services stop sooner: Toomics at the first three chapters, Lalatoon at the first episodes plus one Wait Till It's Free coupon every 72 hours on eligible series. Toomics' help page says there is no way to read its content for free or to get VIP or coins free, so treat its free chapters as a sample. The free adult comics page goes further on this.
Reading on a phone
The independent webcomics are plain websites and work in a phone browser. Irodori Comics has no app we could find in a US App Store search, so its PDFs are a download. INKR, Lalatoon, Toomics, MangaToon, WebComics, Webnovel and WEBTOON have iOS and Android apps; the adult Toomics series are in the browser only. Offline options are covered in the offline reading guide.
Related genres
Comedy borders romance most often, since Iris and Angel, Ménage à 3 and Sticky Dilly Buns are all tagged romance too. Humor also shows up in fantasy, where Oglaf and The Cummoner live, and in drama. For the bigger picture of what independent artists sell, see the adult comics topic page and the genres hub.
