What is GlobalComix?
GlobalComix is a comics reading and self-publishing platform run by Global Publishing Interactive, Inc., based in Bloomingdale, Illinois according to its Google Play listing. It mixes publisher catalogs with independent work. The home page has channels for Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, IDW and Kodansha next to GlobalComix Originals, "Toons", Indie Comics and Indie Manga, and tabs for Comics, Manga and Webcomics.
Its FAQ describes the self-publishing side: GlobalComix is a self-serve comics publishing platform that allows anyone to create, upload, and publish their comics
. Creators must own the comic or the publishing rights.
Does GlobalComix allow adult or NSFW comics?
Mature themes, yes. Porn, no. People search "GlobalComix mature" expecting an adult comics site, and the rules say otherwise. The FAQ answers the nudity question this way:
The exception to this is explicitly sexual stories (such as Hentai) which are not accepted on GlobalComix. The rule of thumb is that nudity is allowed when not in context of depicting sexual acts
The Content Policy, updated March 20, 2026, lists what it calls Obscenity Don'ts. GlobalComix does not accept art whose premise is pornographic or that depicts graphic sex, art that focuses on genitalia without a larger context, sexual violence, or art that sexualizes people under 18. Fully AI-generated art is banned as well.
Mature on GlobalComix therefore covers adult themes and nudity outside sex scenes, the kind of comics a mainstream publisher labels for adults. Readers after explicit porn comics should skip to the alternatives below. The difference between a mature rating and explicit content is explained in what a mature content rating means.
Safe Mode and Advisory Flags
Browse pages show "Safe Mode is active" with a link to update preferences, and an Advisory Flags filter. How Safe Mode is turned off, and whether turning it off asks for an age, could not be checked without an account. The terms let people use the site from 13 and require members of the paid service to be 18 or the age of majority, or to involve a guardian.

Who GlobalComix suits
GlobalComix suits readers of mainstream and indie comics who want mature storytelling in one app at a low monthly price, and creators who want a share of subscription money based on pages read. It does not suit anyone looking for explicit sex in comics, hentai or adult webtoons. Those are banned outright.
The catalog
The Gold page claims "Membership covers 100k+ titles", a vendor figure. Western comics come from the publisher channels and independent creators; manga from the Kodansha channel and Indie Manga; vertical webcomics from the Toons channel. The site language switcher offers English, Spanish, Hindi, Japanese and Norwegian.
Since creators decide whether to charge, the catalog mixes fully free comics, free previews and paid pages. A broader view of where adult and mature-rated comics are sold is on our adult comics page.
Is GlobalComix free?
Partly. The FAQ: No, not all comics require payment to read.
When a creator enables paid access, users are required to purchase a GlobalComix Gold subscription to access any pages that are not free
. You can browse free comics without an account; Gold needs one.
GlobalComix Gold price
Gold is the subscription. Prices on the Gold page:
- monthGold Monthly$6.99unlimited Gold content, discounts on Collection Unlocks
- yearGold Yearly$69.00same as monthly, 7-day free trial
Source: globalcomix.com. Prices change with region, promotions and the store you buy through.
The yearly plan works out at $5.75 a month. Twelve monthly payments would cost $83.88, so paying yearly saves $14.88. The 7-day trial applies only to the yearly plan: the page reads "$0.00 today 7-Days Free · Then $69.00/year" next to a card form, so the charge comes automatically when the week ends.
Gold gives unlimited access to Gold content, discounts on Collection Unlocks and the right to download them. Some premium releases are sold "Pay Per Book", with Gold members getting a discount, and some releases are sold as PDF downloads. Issues on the home page start at $1.99. The Android listing gives in-app purchases from $0.69 to $74.99 per item; the Gold price inside each app was not checked item by item.
Offline reading
Gold members can download Collection Unlocks to read offline in the app; the FAQ says A GlobalComix Gold membership is required to download Collection Unlocks for Offline Reading.
PDF purchases are separate files. How this compares with other services is on the offline reading page.

Cancelling Gold and refunds
Gold renews automatically each month on the day you first paid, or yearly on the annual plan. To stop it, go to Account Settings, then Subscriptions. The FAQ says You will retain access to paid content for the remaining duration of your existing subscription.
If you subscribed through Apple or Google, the store manages the subscription.
Refunds for Collection Unlocks go through the contact form for web purchases and through the store for in-app ones. GlobalComix warns that a request may be denied if you have read past the free preview and already had a refund before.

GlobalComix for creators
Anyone can publish, and creators keep their rights: the FAQ says you retain the full rights to all of your work
. Money comes from three places:
- A share of Gold revenue. GlobalComix takes 25-35%, payment processing included, and the rest is split between the creators and publishers each member reads that month, by percentage of pages read.
- PDF sales of releases the creator chooses to sell.
- Optional donations, which readers send directly to the creator.
Earnings sit as pending income for 14 days. After that a creator with more than US $30 can claim a payout at any time, through PayPal (a fee of about 3-4.5%) or, for US creators, Stripe ($2.25 + 0.25%). The same content rules apply to creators: nudity outside sex scenes is fine, explicitly sexual stories are not. Where to publish adult comics that GlobalComix refuses is covered in where to publish adult comics.
GlobalComix and INKR
On March 18, 2026, GlobalComix raised $13 million, acquired the Singapore-based INKR and named Henrik Rydberg CEO, according to The Next Web and Publishers Weekly. We have not seen GlobalComix's own announcement. INKR's sign-in screen already offers a "Continue With GlobalComix" button. INKR keeps a Mature section behind an account; what that means for its catalog under the new owner has not been announced. The story is on our news page on the INKR deal.

Alternatives for adult comics
For explicit Western porn comics bought from the artist, itch.io lists more than 1,600 NSFW comics, many free or pay-what-you-want, as DRM-free downloads. Filthy Figments and Slipshine are members sites for original erotic comics. For licensed hentai manga in English, FAKKU is the main store.
For mature-rated manga on a coin model, INKR has a Mature section behind an account, BookWalker sells mature and ecchi manga volumes, and MangaPlaza has a large Adult Romance shelf for US readers. More options are on the best adult comics sites and the platforms hub.

Final verdict
Verdict
GlobalComix is a good-value comics subscription with real mature content, publisher channels and a creator model based on pages read. It is not an adult comics site, and its own FAQ says so in the word "Hentai". Use it for mainstream and indie comics with grown-up themes, start with the yearly trial if you want to test Gold, and look to itch.io or FAKKU for explicit work.
