FAKKU Review

What is FAKKU?

FAKKU is an English-language hentai publisher and store run by FAKKU, LLC. Its home page calls it "the largest English hentai manga publisher in the world", which is the company's own claim, and describes the catalog as "officially licensed legal hentai from the most popular artists & creators in the world". The top menu splits into Hentai Manga, Doujin, Games, Manga and Unlimited.

There are two ways to read. You buy a single book or doujin and download it, or you pay for FAKKU Unlimited and read the subscription library in the browser. The subscription page promises "New releases every single day" and "Simulpublished hentai straight from Japan", meaning chapters that come out in English close to their Japanese release.

FAKKU licenses and publishes. It does not host uploads, and no public submission page for artists turned up.

Who FAKKU suits

FAKKU fits a reader who wants Japanese hentai manga in official English translation, with the artist paid through a license, and who prefers files to streaming. Readers who follow particular magazines get the most out of Unlimited, since the back issues sit inside it.

It suits iPhone readers and PayPal users less well. There is no App Store app, the payment options are narrow, and the subscription price is hidden until you register. Anyone after Western porn comics will find only a small shelf of work by Western artists.

The FAKKU catalog: hentai manga, magazines and doujinshi

The Unlimited page claims "over 10,000 hentai chapters". The support article on subscription benefits lists the magazines inside it, back issues and new issues alike:

• Comic Kairakuten and Comic Kairakuten BEAST
• Comic Shitsurakuten
• Comic X-Eros and Comic Bavel
• Comic Europa, Girls forM and Comic Koh

Collected volumes sit under Manga, and the Doujin section lists circle and parody on each title page. Unlimited also includes "several pieces of content created by Western artists", and a Western tag exists in the index. Games, mostly visual novels, are sold as downloads beside the comics.

Discovery runs on a tag index of about 220 tags, each with its own page. The selection covers Vanilla, Netorare, Yuri, Yaoi, Futanari, MILF, Monster Girl, Femdom, Isekai, Fantasy and Full Color, and the site's popular tags include Anal, Busty, Harem, Stockings and Dark Skin. Readers who want the wider picture of what hentai manga is and where else it is sold legally can start at our hentai manga overview.

Is FAKKU uncensored?

Mostly. The subscription page promises "thousands of completely uncensored English hentai comics. No black bars and no mosaics." The tag index tells the fuller story: titles are tagged Uncensored, Mosaics or Whiteout. FAKKU defines the Uncensored tag as Any added censorship has been removed. Censorship included for comical effect does not count. The Mosaics tag means Artwork is consistently censored through pixelization.

So the accurate line is that most FAKKU releases are uncensored, and the ones that are not say so on the title page. Filtering by the Uncensored tag is the quickest way to stay inside the uncensored part. Japanese law is the reason Japanese editions arrive censored in the first place; the background is on why hentai is censored.

Free hentai on FAKKU

FAKKU gives away one title a week. The home page shows a "Free Hentai Manga of the Week" with a countdown, and a Free tag collects titles that cost nothing, such as the 15-page Room Mates. The free tier stops there. No free trial of Unlimited appears on the public pages. For more licensed free reading, see free hentai manga sites.

FAKKU Unlimited: what the subscription costs

FAKKU does not show the recurring monthly price of Unlimited to visitors who are not signed in, so we cannot print it. What is public is the price of prepaid Unlimited cards on FAKKU's official merch store:

• once30 Day Unlimited Card$14.9530 days of FAKKU Unlimited, prepaid card or code↗
• once90 Day Unlimited Card$44.8590 days of FAKKU Unlimited, prepaid card or code↗
• once365 Day Unlimited Card$179365 days of FAKKU Unlimited, prepaid card or code↗

Source: merch.fakku.net. Prices change with region, promotions and the store you buy through.

The arithmetic is flat. The 90-day card costs exactly three 30-day cards, and the 365-day card costs 40 cents less than twelve 30-day cards while covering five more days. Either way Unlimited works out at about 49 cents a day, so buying a longer card saves nothing worth counting.

The card-based Unlimited is billed once. The regular subscription renews by itself: the terms say FAKKU will automatically bill your Payment Method each month on the corresponding calendar day until you cancel.

What Unlimited includes

Unlimited covers reading of the subscription library in the browser, the magazine back catalog listed above, some Western artists' work, and "Real-time notifications when your favorite tags and artists are updated." It does not include the books sold separately in the store. Whether Unlimited chapters can be saved for offline reading is not stated anywhere public, so assume they stay online.

Buying books and doujinshi

Single purchases are where FAKKU's downloads come in. Home-page prices run from $6.48 for a title on sale to $24.25. One example: a 63-page doujin listed at $8.50, about 13.5 cents a page.

The support page on formats says Book digital editions are available both in x2600 and x3200 vertical resolution, and can be downloaded as PDFs or as zip archives with image files. The page does not mention DRM either way. Readers who keep a local library will want a comic reader that opens PDF and zip; options are on our page on DRM-free hentai downloads.

Refunds are tight. Digital titles can be refunded within 3 days of purchase, and only if they have not been downloaded. Sale and discounted items are final, and the terms say Payments for a FAKKU Subscription are nonrefundable.

Payment methods and the 2025 processor loss

FAKKU's support page lists Visa, Mastercard and Discover. It says FAKKU is unable to accept American Express, PayPal, PaySafeCard, or Bank Transfer because of guidelines against adult content, and answers the crypto question with "Not currently at this time."

Behind that sits a bigger event. In a post dated April 18, 2026, FAKKU's founder wrote that At the end of 2025, a few weeks before Christmas, the payment processor we had worked with for the past 11 years terminated our account abruptly, and blamed automated compliance systems that flagged forum posts. The same post says FAKKU has already implemented direct bank transfers for all regular FAKKU purchases and is looking at crypto, prepaid cards and a point system. Comments and reviews have been switched off since December.

The two official pages disagree on bank transfers, so check at checkout. The post also describes one comic that came back under a new title after a processor misread its "18+" wording, and talks about "missing content" making a comeback, which suggests some titles were pulled while the dispute ran. The full timeline is on our news report on FAKKU's payment processor.

FAKKU content rules

The terms allow drawn sexual work broadly: Fictional, illustrated, and rendered content is generally fine, assuming it's legal. They ban sexual depictions of people under 18, sexualized real people and photo-real AI images of real people, and content that glorifies sexual violence.

A second list comes from the card networks. FAKKU prints it in its terms as themes it cannot sell:

The following is a non-exhaustive list of prohibited themes present in card processing networks. We are unable to support the sale of any works containing these topics: Child sexual abuse materials, Incest, Bestiality or animal-related, Rape, Non-consensual mutilation of a person or body part, Fetish involving bodily waste or extreme harm

That list explains gaps a longtime reader might notice in the catalog. FAKKU's compliance page adds a 2257 statement that everyone in its visual depictions was at least 18.

FAKKU apps: iPhone, Android and the web reader

• ✗iPhoneNono FAKKU app in a US App Store search
• ✓BrowserYesreads in the browser (Start Reading on title pages); the site ships a web app manifest

FAKKU reads in the browser: title pages have a Start Reading button and the site ships a web app manifest, so it can sit on a phone's home screen. No FAKKU app turned up in a US App Store search.

Android is murkier. The subscription page lists an "Android Mobile App" and says Read all your favorites comics with the exclusive FAKKU Android App. We found no download link for it on the site, and no listing to point to. Until FAKKU publishes one, phone readers use the browser.

Privacy, billing and cancelling

Sign-up asks you to tick a box affirming you are at least 18 or the age of majority where you live. There is no ID check. The privacy policy, last modified May 24, 2018, lists username, email, address, postal code, country, device and browsing data, plus Google Analytics.

FAKKU does not publish the name that appears on a card statement. For physical orders, its support page says the packaging is "generic and unbranded" and ships under the return name TENKAI LLC.

Cancelling has one route. Open Subscription Settings in your account and choose Cancel Subscription; the support page says this is the only method to cancel your FAKKU Unlimited service. Access runs to the end of the period already paid. General steps for other services are in how to cancel a comic subscription.

Pros and cons

Best FAKKU alternatives

Irodori Comics is the closest match for licensed, uncensored doujinshi in English. It has no subscription, every title is bought separately, and the files are DRM-free PDFs at 3200 px. It is the better choice if you want to own what you pay for and care about royalties reaching the original artist.

For free work straight from Japanese artists, pixiv is where many of them post R-18 illustrations and short manga first. Everything there is censored under Japanese rules, and R-18 needs an account with a date of birth.

For adult romance manga in place of hentai, MangaPlaza has an Adult Romance shelf of 1,564 titles, all tagged Mature (18+), at 1 cent a point or $6.99 a month for Premium, but it is browser-only and limited to the United States. BookWalker sells KADOKAWA's English manga, including ecchi and mature-rated series, though no explicit hentai shelf was seen there. itch.io covers indie Western adult comics sold by the artists themselves.

Ranked lists with the criteria spelled out are on the best hentai manga sites and where to read uncensored hentai manga, and every service we cover is on the platforms hub.
