FAKKU loses its payment processor of 11 years

A few weeks before Christmas 2025, the payment processor FAKKU had used for 11 years terminated its account. FAKKU's founder explained in a post on April 18, 2026: direct bank transfers now cover regular purchases, comments and reviews are off, and other payment options are being looked at.

In short

  • FAKKU's processor of 11 years ended the account abruptly in December 2025.
  • FAKKU now takes direct bank transfers for all regular purchases.
  • Crypto, prepaid cards and a point system were being investigated as of April 2026.
  • Comments and reviews have been disabled since December.

What happened

FAKKU is the largest licensed English publisher of hentai manga and doujinshi. In a post dated April 18, 2026, its founder wrote: At the end of 2025, a few weeks before Christmas, the payment processor we had worked with for the past 11 years terminated our account abruptly. He blamed automated AI compliance systems that flagged discussion on the site's forums, not the books themselves.

FAKKU responded on several fronts. We have already implemented direct bank transfers for all regular FAKKU purchases, the post says, and crypto, prepaid cards and a point system were under investigation. Comments and reviews have been switched off since December. One comic was even retitled after a processor misread its 18+ wording.

What it means for readers

Paying FAKKU now looks different from paying most sites. Its support page already said it takes no PayPal, American Express or crypto, and the new route for regular purchases is a direct bank transfer. FAKKU also sells prepaid Unlimited cards on its merch store: $14.95 for 30 days, $44.85 for 90 days and $179 for 365 days, which works out to about 49 cents a day on the yearly card. The recurring monthly price of FAKKU Unlimited is shown only after sign-in.

The catalog itself was not affected. FAKKU still sells uncensored English editions (No black bars and no mosaics), books and doujinshi to download, and a weekly free title. What readers lost is the community layer: reviews and comments under each book. The catalog is described on hentai manga, and why owning files matters when payment routes shift is covered on DRM-free downloads.

Part of a wider pattern

FAKKU is one of several adult comics businesses to lose a processor in the past two years. Stripe dropped Manga Planet over R18 content in January 2025 before it closed (Manga Planet's closure), and Japanese doujin stores lost Visa and Mastercard in 2024. Other places to buy licensed hentai are on best hentai manga sites, and free legal reading on free hentai manga. More stories are on the news page.
