What is Irodori Comics?
Irodori Comics is a doujinshi publisher and download store run by IRODORI, Inc., a US company with an address in Portland, Oregon. Its About page puts the job in one line: Irodori Comics localizes and publishes Japanese doujinshi for Western fans to enjoy.
It works with the artists directly, and says it aims to minimize localization costs whilst prioritizing the royalty they receive for each work sold
. The royalty rate itself is not published.
The store runs several labels:
- Irodori Comics, the main line of erotic doujinshi, with "over 300 titles by our growing roster of over 100 doujinshi artists"
- Irodori Sakura, for BL, yuri and LGBTQ work
- Irodori Aqua, which is all-ages
- Irodori Citron in French, Fengli in Chinese and Sol in Spanish
The language menu offers English, French, Spanish, Traditional Chinese and Thai. English is the center of the catalog.
Who Irodori suits
Irodori is for readers who want to own their hentai doujinshi as plain files and pay per title. Anyone who already keeps a local comic library will like the format, and readers who care where the money goes get a publisher that names artist royalties as its priority.
Readers who binge are the poor fit. With no subscription, a large reading habit gets expensive one doujin at a time, and the catalog is a few hundred titles. For a broad, all-you-can-read magazine catalog, FAKKU Unlimited is the comparison.
The catalog: what kind of doujinshi Irodori publishes
Everything here is doujinshi: self-published Japanese comics, often short, from circles and individual artists. Irodori adds compilations and physical books, and no commercial manga line is stated. If the term is new, what doujinshi means explains it, and where to buy doujinshi legally compares the stores.
The tag list runs to about 100 tags. Among them: Vanilla, Romance-centric, NTR, Futanari, MILF, Femdom, Yuri, Gay, Monster Girl, Isekai, Fantasy and Comedy. New titles appear on a New Releases page; Irodori states no release schedule.
Every product page carries the clearest character-age statement of the English hentai stores we checked:
The contents of this work is a work of fiction. All characters depicted herein are at least 18 years of age despite creative liberties on the part of the author that may suggest otherwise. This work is not intended for sale to minors.
Is Irodori Comics uncensored?
The main line is sold that way. The About page describes it as uncensored English localizations of impeccable quality
, and the site's meta description says "fully uncensored hentai doujin".
The terms keep a caveat worth reading once. Irodori reserves the right to modify releases by obfuscation, interpretation, localization, and/or omission
where details may be subject to morally objectionable and/or legal contest
. In plain terms, a scene or a line can be changed or cut if Irodori judges it legally risky. The store does not mark which titles, if any, were changed this way.
Region decides the rest. Under its terms, Due to governmental regulations in Japan, users in Japan are restricted from viewing and/or purchasing uncensored adult content on the Website.
Why Japanese releases are censored at home is covered under mosaic censorship.
Prices: what a doujin costs on Irodori
Irodori sells per title in US dollars. There are no coins, points or plans. The home page shows single doujinshi from $5.25 to $14.95 and a compilation at $39.25.
Two things bring the price down. "99¢ Monthly Deals" cut selected titles to $0.99 for the month. And the Free Doujin section listed 14 titles, each marked FREE TO READ on the Irodori Comics Store
; buying one of those gets you the DRM-free file, sometimes for $0.10.
For scale: the most expensive single doujin on that day cost the same $14.95 as a 30-day FAKKU Unlimited card. One buys a file you keep, the other a month of reading online. Which one wins depends on whether you reread.
Free doujinshi on Irodori
The free shelf is small but real: about 14 artist-approved titles that read online at no cost, with no subscription behind them. The free part ends there. Everything else is paid, though the monthly 99-cent deals make sampling cheap. Other legal free options are on our list of free hentai manga sites.
DRM-free PDF downloads
This is Irodori's strongest point. The About page says: All our digital doujinshi works are DRM-free and can be downloaded for you to keep. The files will be available in high-quality PDF format at 3200 pixels height.
Downloads sit on the product page and under My Account, then Downloads.
A PDF with no DRM opens in ordinary PDF and comic readers, and a saved copy keeps working whatever happens to your account. Product pages also say "Buy to Download or Read Online", so reading in the browser is an option too. For apps that handle PDFs well and a comparison of stores that sell DRM-free files, see the DRM-free downloads page and how to read manga offline.

Apps and reading on a phone
- iPhoneNono Irodori Comics app in a US App Store search; products are "Buy to Download or Read Online"
- BrowserYes"Buy to Download or Read Online" on product pages
Irodori has no app. No Irodori Comics app turned up in a US App Store search, and the site links to none for Android. On a phone you either read in the browser or download the PDF and open it in a reader app.
Where Irodori Comics is blocked
The terms say individuals from China, South Korea, and New Zealand may not access the Website and its services due to local legislation limiting distribution of restricted content.
OFAC-sanctioned countries are excluded too. Japan can use the site but not the uncensored editions.
Physical books
Irodori also prints some of its catalog. The FAQ lists countries the books do not ship to, Australia and Japan among them, and says packages that do ship go out in discreet packaging with a shipping label
. Shops and resellers can stock the printed books through the Hentai Pioneer Program, which is a reseller scheme for physical copies; it is not a way for artists to submit work. Irodori has no open submission program, and readers who want an artist licensed are pointed to the contact form.

Payment, refunds and your account
You need an account to buy and download. The terms ask you to affirm you are at least 18, or of majority age where you live, and every page carries the footer You must be at least 18 years old or older to access this website.
No ID check was described.
Irodori does not take PayPal, and its FAQ advises against prepaid gift cards. The refund rule is strict: digital sales are final, with one exception, a duplicate of something already on your account, and only if it has not been downloaded and no more than 24 hours have passed. A chargeback ends the account, and the library with it. Since the files are DRM-free, a downloaded copy stays readable, but you lose the store copy. There is nothing to cancel, because nothing renews.

Irodori Comics alternatives
FAKKU is the obvious one: a far larger catalog, the magazine back issues inside FAKKU Unlimited, and book editions that download as PDF or zip. Most FAKKU releases are uncensored and the rest are tagged. It takes only Visa, Mastercard and Discover, and its refund window is 3 days if you have not downloaded.
To find doujin artists before they are licensed, pixiv is where many Japanese artists post R-18 work for free, censored to Japanese rules. itch.io carries indie adult comics, including some doujinshi-style work by Western artists, sold as DRM-free files at prices the creators set.
Ranked picks with reasons are on the uncensored hentai manga list, and the rest of the services we cover are on the platforms hub.

Final verdict
Verdict
Irodori Comics is the store to use when you want licensed English doujinshi as files that belong to you: DRM-free 3200 px PDFs, uncensored editions, and a publisher that puts the artist's royalty first. The catalog is a few hundred titles and every one is a separate purchase, so it complements a subscription service more than it replaces one. Check your country before you sign up, and read the one clause about obfuscation and omission so it does not surprise you.
