In short
- Cancel the subscription first, in the store or on the website where you paid. Deleting the app or the account is not the same as cancelling.
- Save anything you own as a file (Irodori PDFs, FAKKU book downloads) before the account goes.
- WEBTOON, Tapas and Toomics publish help articles on deleting an account; follow the service's own article.
- If privacy is the goal, clearing reading history may be enough: WEBTOON, MangaPlaza and Mihon all let you.
Deleting a comic account takes more care than signing up did, because the account is where your purchases live. Coins buy access on that platform, not a file, so whatever you unlocked goes with the account. The order below keeps you from paying for something you can no longer use. For the billing side, see the other guides.
Before you delete: the order that saves money
- Cancel any subscription where you bought it. If you paid through Apple or Google, cancel in the store's subscription settings; Google says uninstalling the app does not cancel a Play subscription.
- Check the refund window if you just bought coins. Toomics and Lezhin refund coins within 7 days of purchase, and only if none were used.
- Download every file you own. Irodori Comics keeps your DRM-free PDFs under My Account, Downloads; FAKKU's book editions download as PDF or ZIP files.
- Spend or write off any remaining coins, points or Gems. They are access on that platform only.
- Open the service's own deletion article or account page and follow it.
Manta puts the first step bluntly: signing out of your account or deleting the Manta app does not cancel your Membership.
The same is true everywhere. Our guide to cancelling a comic subscription has the route for each service.
Services that document a deletion route
WEBTOON, Tapas and Toomics each publish a help article on deleting an account, under these titles:
- WEBTOON: "How do I delete my account?" in its help center.
- Tapas: "How do I delete my Tapas account?". With Tapas closing on 2027-03-31, its unlocked episodes become inaccessible at that point anyway.
- Toomics: "How can I deactivate/ reactivate/ delete my Account?", which separates deactivation from deletion in its title.
Google Play's Data safety sections add a fourth signal. The listings for WEBTOON, Tapas, WebComics and MangaToon all state that you can request your data be deleted. INKR's terms describe cancelling the account from its Account Details page.
For the other services in our research, we found no published deletion steps in the help pages we read. The route may sit behind a login, so the service's support contact is the place to ask. Our research covers Lezhin, Tappytoon, Manta, Honeytoon, FAKKU and MangaPlaza without a recorded deletion route.

What you lose with the account
Everything that is access, not a file. Coins and points live in the account, and so do unlocked episodes: Tappytoon adds unlocks to your account's unlock history, Manta keeps Gem-unlocked series in your library
, and WEBTOON keeps Fast Pass episodes available while the series stays on the service. MangaPlaza is a streaming service with no downloads at all, so nothing you unlocked there survives outside the account.
Files are different. A PDF from Irodori Comics, a ZIP from FAKKU or a DRM-free PDF from Iron Circus is on your device and stays readable whatever happens to the store account. That is a good reason to download purchases as you go; reading manga offline covers which stores sell files.
If you only want your history gone
Many readers want to delete an account because of what it records. Clearing the history may do the job without losing purchases:
- WEBTOON app: MY, RECENT, the trash can icon, then Delete All.
- MangaPlaza: My Library, History, and the trash icon on each item.
- Mihon: "Clear history", plus an incognito mode that pauses reading history.
- Perfect Viewer X: "Clear all history and bookmarks".
- Panels: an incognito mode that keeps reading sessions hidden (Premium).
For apps that hide your library behind a lock, see private library comic apps. What each service collects in the first place is covered in are adult comic sites safe.
FAQ
Does uninstalling the app delete my account?
No. The account and any subscription stay. Google says uninstalling does not cancel a Play subscription, and Manta says deleting its app does not cancel a membership.
What happens to my coins if I delete my account?
Coins are access on that platform only, so expect to lose any balance. Spend them first, or ask for a refund inside the window: Toomics and Lezhin refund unused coins within 7 days of purchase.
How do I clear my reading history on WEBTOON?
In the app, open MY, then RECENT, tap the trash can icon and choose Delete All.
Can I delete my account and keep my comics?
Only the ones you downloaded as files, such as Irodori PDFs or FAKKU book downloads. Episodes unlocked on webtoon services stay with the account.
