In short
- Honeytoon, Toomics, TOPTOON Plus, Tapas, Lezhin, Tappytoon and Manta all hold explicit series on the website only.
- Lezhin is the one with an app route: its Android PLUS APK, installed from Lezhin's own site, carries the R-rated titles.
- Labels differ: [Steamy] and [Uncut] on Tappytoon, [Full ver.] on Manta, UNCENS+ on Honeytoon, Mature on Tapas.
- Only Honeytoon says outright that its default copy is censored and the uncensored version costs extra.
Honeytoon is the plainest case. It has no app on either store from Honeytech, so everything is in the browser, and its menu has an Uncensored section where the series carry UNCENS+ badges. A pop-up on the site reads that uncensored content is "available on Ultra plans", and another says "available only with TOKENS", which makes the censored version the default. Honeytoon is the only service in this group that states the censoring arrangement that directly.
Website or app: where the explicit series sit
| Service | Website | Store apps | Name of the explicit tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Honeytoon | Yes, the only place | None from Honeytech | Uncensored, UNCENS+ |
| Toomics | Yes, after turning off Family Safe mode | All-ages builds only | Adult series |
| TOPTOON Plus | Yes, behind NSFW mode | No global app found | Mature series |
| Tapas | Mature section, web only | No Mature section | Mature |
| Lezhin | Yes, via the 18+ switch | No R-rated titles in the store builds | R-rated |
| Tappytoon | Yes, in mature mode | All-ages and 16+ editions | [Steamy], [Uncut] |
| Manta | Yes, for age-verified adults | Edited to the app's age rating | [Full ver.] |
Lalatoon has an 18+ toggle on its website, and its store apps are rated 12+ with no sexual-content advisory. Turning the toggle on needs an account, so what the 18+ catalogue contains and how explicit it is could not be confirmed. It is left out of the list above for that reason.
Why the apps stay clean
The split is a response to store rules. Apple's App Store Review Guideline 1.1.4 bans "overtly sexual or pornographic material", and guideline 1.2 lets an app show incidental NSFW content only if it is "hidden by default and only displayed when the user turns it on via your website". Apple also asks for 4+ screenshots and icons whatever the app's rating. The services put it in their own words. Tappytoon: "Due to Apple and Google platform policies, steamy comics are available only on our website and mobile website." Tapas: the Mature section "is unavailable within the app" to comply with both stores' terms. Lezhin's reply on its App Store listing says mature content cannot be provided in the app and sends readers to the website.
Practically, an iPhone reader opens the browser. The mobile website works for Tappytoon, and Manta's help center says to open it in a web browser. Check two things before paying. Coins or points bought in a store app are one wallet and web purchases can be another (Lalatoon states that app and web coins cannot be combined), and Tappytoon sells its Steamy and all-ages versions as separate purchases. For the app side by itself see adult webtoon apps.
How censoring is labelled
Tappytoon has the clearest wording. A [Steamy] title is censored titles that still carry themes or depictions of adult situations
, with partially censored imagery
. An [Uncut] title is unabridged and contain the full work
, and may include explicit depictions. Both open only for an adult who has logged in, confirmed age and switched to mature mode.
Manta never uses the word uncensored. A [Full ver.] is the complete form of a series, including all original story elements
, readable by age-verified adults, and the in-app copy of the same series carries the note that the version is "tailored to be more suitable for its age rating". That is an edit, but Manta does not say what is cut.
Tapas calls the tier Mature and speaks of buying "an uncensored version of a series available in the Mature section", with shelves titled "Uncensored and wild". Mature and All Ages versions of a series are separate, and a purchase does not transfer. Tapas is ending service on 2027-03-31, Ink has not been on sale since 2026-10-01, and episodes unlocked with it become inaccessible, so it is a poor place to start paying.
Toomics, Lezhin and TOPTOON Plus publish nothing on mosaics or edits. Toomics says graphic series open with "a content warning panel at the beginning of the episode", and TOPTOON Plus runs an NSFW mode toggle. Whether an 18+ edition is censored is not stated on those sites, so a reader has to check the first free episode. WEBTOON sits at the other end: its guidelines say "box and mosaic censoring are not allowed", and it carries no nudity at all, which is why adult webtoons there stops at Mature-rated.
What explicit episodes cost
Prices are set in each service's own currency, and the arithmetic below uses only numbers published in our research. Tappytoon charges 300 points an episode on its Steamy example; at 3,900 points for $4.99 that is about 38 cents, and about 43 cents on the 1,400-point pack for $1.99. Lezhin charges 20 coins and up; at 400 coins plus 45 bonus for $9.99, a 20-coin episode is about 50 cents, or about 45 counting the bonus. Honeytoon charges 9 coins an episode; the two euro packs it showed, 700 coins for EUR 29.99 and 2,000 for EUR 49.99, put an episode near EUR 0.39 and EUR 0.22. Toomics charges 1 to 3 coins a chapter but does not publish its coin prices without an account, and TOPTOON Plus no longer sells coins, only a membership whose price sits behind a login.
Subscriptions change the sums. Toomics VIP is the main product, with the US App Store listing showing 1-month rows at $8.99 and $9.99. Manta Standard is $4.99 a month and Premium $9.99 in the app. Tappytoon Club Standard is $4.99 a month and returns 4,400 points, about 14 episodes at 300 points. The ranked list of NSFW webtoon sites compares them, and free adult webtoons covers what you can read without paying.

FAQ
Are there NSFW webtoons on the WEBTOON app?
No. WEBTOON bans nudity, graphic sex and even mosaic censoring, on the app and the web. Its Mature rating covers sexual themes without explicit scenes.
Why are NSFW webtoons not in the apps?
The services point to Apple and Google policy. Apple's guidelines ban pornographic material and allow incidental NSFW content only when it is hidden by default and enabled through a website.
What does Uncut mean on Tappytoon?
Tappytoon defines an Uncut edition as unabridged and containing the full work, which may include explicit depictions. A Steamy edition is partly censored. Both are readable only by logged-in, age-confirmed adults on the website.
Which webtoon sites are uncensored?
Honeytoon says so directly and sells the uncensored versions on its Ultra plans or for tokens. Tapas speaks of uncensored Mature versions, and Tappytoon's Uncut editions are unabridged. Manta says "complete form"; Toomics, Lezhin and TOPTOON Plus do not say.
Can I read NSFW webtoons on an iPhone?
Yes, in the browser. The 18+ editions on these services are on their websites, and the mobile websites work for them.
