Best Toomics Alternatives

Tappytoon is a licensed English manhwa store, and it answers the Toomics price complaint directly because its prices are public. Club Standard costs $4.99 a month or $47.99 a year and adds 4,400 points on the first day of each cycle, plus 30 bonus points a day. A typical episode costs 300 points, so the monthly points cover about 14 episodes. Bought separately, 3,900 points cost $4.99 in the US App Store, which works out to about $0.38 an episode.

Its 18+ editions come in two labels. [Steamy] means partially censored, and [Uncut] means the full, unabridged work. Both can be read only on the website after logging in and confirming you are 18, the same web-only rule Toomics has. Free routes are better than Toomics': free first episodes, Time Till Free (one episode every 24 hours on marked titles) and weekly Free Tickets that open a locked episode for 48 hours. The downside is a strict rule on refunds: every purchase is final.

Lalatoon is run by Toomics' sister company, from the same Seoul address on the same site software, but it sells episodes instead of a subscription. Every paid episode on the series checked costs 3 clovers. Its January 2025 price notice lists packs from 25 clovers for $3.99 up to 500 clovers for $47.99, so an episode costs between about $0.29 and $0.48. There is no plan to cancel.

The free part is generous by webtoon standards. First episodes are free, and eligible series give one Wait Till It's Free coupon 72 hours after you read an episode, though coupons do not work on the latest 20 episodes. Two caveats. The 18+ mode needs an account, so we could not see how large or how explicit the adult catalog is. And clovers bought on the web and coins bought in the 12+ store apps cannot be combined.

Manta, from Korea's RIDI, is the pick for anyone who wanted to save Toomics episodes and could not. Its download feature is available to all users, members or not, inside the app. The Unlimited Library holds 300+ series by Manta's count, and Standard membership costs $4.99 a month in the US App Store ($49.90 for 12 months). Premium costs $8.99 a month on the web against $9.99 in the app, and adds 1,420 Gems a month.

Single episodes run on Gems. A comic episode typically costs 30 to 60 Gems, and 1,250 Gems cost $9.99, so a 40-Gem episode is about $0.32. Manta's 18+ "[Full ver.]" editions are web only, like Toomics' adult series, and the age you enter at sign-up cannot be changed later without support. Payments are final.

Honeytoon is the only service here with an "Uncensored" section, and its site says where those versions sit: behind the "Ultra" plans or paid for with tokens. Every locked episode on the six series checked costs 9 coins. From an EU connection the coin window showed 700 coins for EUR 29.99 and 2,000 coins for EUR 49.99, so about EUR 0.39 or EUR 0.22 an episode.

The trade is convenience. Honeytoon is web only, with no app at all, and plan prices appear only after sign-up; a pop-up quoted a "regular price 13.49 per month" with no currency sign. Cancelling means emailing support at least 24 hours before renewal. The payment policy says coins expire after 12 months, while the FAQ still says they have no time limit.

Lezhin is the exception to the web-only rule, on Android. Its "Lezhin Comics PLUS" app, downloaded as an APK from lezhinus.com and not from Google Play, promises "Access All R-Rated Content!" and supports downloads for offline reading. The iPhone app carries no R-rated titles, so iPhone readers are back in the browser.

There is no subscription. Episodes cost coins, from 20 to 50 or more per episode, and the US App Store lists 400 coins plus 45 bonus for $9.99, which puts a 20-coin episode at about $0.50. A refund is possible within 7 days of buying coins if none of them were used, the same rule Toomics applies to its coins.

TOPTOON Plus (the site now redirects to global.toptoon.com) dropped coins and sells only a membership: its FAQ says the plan "grants you unlimited access to all our exclusive series". Leftover coins still buy episodes. Readers who liked the all-you-can-read part of Toomics VIP get the same model here.

It repeats Toomics' worst habit, though: the plan page needs a login, so no price is public. The terms mention monthly, three-month and six-month billing. The first few episodes of a series are free after logging in. We found no official app in either US store, and the terms rule out refunds, even for the rest of a cancelled month.
