Toomics vs TOPTOON Plus

Choose Toomics if you want to see a price before signing up, a refund window, coin purchases for single series and an app for the all-ages side; choose TOPTOON Plus if you prefer one membership with nothing else to buy, billed monthly or every three or six months, and are happy to sign up before you see what it costs.

In short

  • Both sell a membership for unlimited reading of their own series. Toomics shows App Store prices ($8.99 or $9.99 a month, $47.99 a year); TOPTOON Plus shows no price until you sign in.
  • TOPTOON's FAQ says it stopped selling coins; Toomics still sells coins for its separate Store titles at 1 to 3 coins a chapter.
  • Both keep 18+ titles on the website behind a self-declaration and a login. Toomics has all-ages store apps; we found no official TOPTOON app.
  • Toomics refunds VIP within 14 days if no VIP content was read. TOPTOON gives no refunds, not even for the rest of a cancelled month.

Toomics and TOPTOON Plus sell the same thing in the same way: Korean adult webtoons on a website, paid for with a membership. That makes the choice come down to price visibility, how each one treats cancelling, and the catalog each holds. TOPTOON Plus now lives at global.toptoon.com under the name Toptoon, run by TOPCO GLOBAL INC.; toptoonplus.com and the old DAYcomics site both redirect there. Other head-to-heads are listed on the comparisons hub.

Catalog and formats

Both publish full-color vertical webtoons they license or produce. Toomics claims "50,000+ episodes" and sorts them into Drama, Romance, BL, Fantasy, Action, Comedy, Horror, Thriller, Historical and Sci-fi, with 11 interface languages. TOPTOON's genre tabs are Vanilla, BL, Action, Slice of Life, Drama, Historical, Supernatural and Horror/Thriller, and its title data also uses Romance, Office, Isekai and College. Its only catalog claim is from a 2021 press release ("over 200 popular works"), which is too old to lean on. TOPTOON is in English only.

Update schedules match: weekly per series on both, with TOPTOON posting "on a designated day of the week at 00:00 UTC worldwide". Both also promote a separate chat feature (Toomics Chat and Toptoon Chat), which is not part of the comics.

Explicit content and censorship labels

Both are adult services by their own description. TOPTOON's terms say the site contains sexually oriented material intended for individuals 18 years of age or older. Toomics' help center tells readers that adult webtoons are on its website. Neither publishes anything about mosaics or uncensored editions, and neither offers labels like Tappytoon's Steamy and Uncut. Toomics puts a content warning panel at the start of graphic episodes.

Logged out, you see the all-ages side only. TOPTOON's genre data returns 81 titles to a logged-out visitor, all flagged as not mature, so the adult part of its catalog cannot be sized without an account. Toomics hides its adult series behind Family Safe mode in the same way.

Free reading

Toomics gives the first three chapters of a series free, sometimes more, plus occasional gift-box Free Passes. TOPTOON gives the first few episodes free too, but only after you log in: one title showed "4 Episode for Free", with episodes 0 to 3 marked "Log in and watch for free" and the rest "Membership". TOPTOON's FAQ adds that some series stay hidden until your first purchase and unlock within 48 hours of it. Neither offers a free trial that we could see.

Prices and what you pay

Toomics publishes nothing on the web without a login, but its US App Store list shows the VIP prices:

Toomics VIP (US App Store)PricePer month
1 month$8.99 or $9.99 (two listings)$8.99 to $9.99
3 months$17.49 or $23.99 (two listings)about $5.83 to $8.00
6 months$29.49about $4.92
12 months$47.99about $4.00

Apple's list does not say which of the doubled rows is current, and the web price may differ. VIP covers the VIP-exclusive series and removes ads; the TOOMICS STORE shelf is coin-only, at 1 to 3 coins a chapter, and coin pack sizes are not public. See Toomics prices for the rest.

TOPTOON shows nothing. Its plan page redirects to the login, and its terms say the membership can be charged monthly, every three month, or every six month, with no annual option mentioned. Its FAQ says The coin service has been discontinued and replaced with a monthly membership subscription model; leftover coins still buy episodes. So with TOPTOON you get one fee and nothing else to buy, but you cannot compare that fee with anything until you have an account. The TOPTOON Plus pricing page will carry the figures once they can be read.

App or website: where the 18+ titles are

Both are web services for adult reading. Toomics has App Store (12+) and Google Play (13+) apps, but they carry the all-ages catalog only; the help center sends adult readers to the website. TOPTOON has no official app that we could find in US store searches, and its site links none. On a phone, both mean a browser. Our page on adult webtoon apps lists which services do offer adult titles in an app.

Offline reading

Toomics says it has no download or offline feature. TOPTOON's FAQ and terms say nothing about offline reading, and with no app there is nowhere obvious to store episodes.

Age check

The two prompts are almost the same. Toomics: "You need to confirm that you are over the age of 18 to turn off family safe mode. Are you over the age of 18? Yes No". TOPTOON: "Please confirm that you're 18 or older to disable NSFW mode. Are you over the age of 18? NO YES". On both sites, clicking yes while logged out left the filter on, so each needs an account. TOPTOON's FAQ says mature series can only be accessed after age verification without describing the method. Toomics asks readers in Singapore, Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia to contact support for a separate check. Both sets of terms put the minimum age at 14, with an affirmation of 18 or guardian consent.

Refunds, cancelling and privacy

Here the two part ways. Toomics refunds VIP within 14 days of purchase if you have read no VIP content, and coins within 7 days if you have used none. TOPTOON refunds nothing: Your benefits will last until the end of the month ... but you will not receive a refund. Its FAQ adds that bought episodes are final.

Cancelling is easy to find on TOPTOON: profile settings, or an email to cs_global@toptoon.com. Toomics has a "Cancel VIP Membership" button in Account Settings, but readers who try it are offered a "Free Month" that auto-renews, and that offer hides the button for a week or two. App Store and Google Play subscriptions are cancelled in the store. The general steps are in how to cancel a comic subscription.

Neither publishes a card statement name. Toomics' Play app lists ads; VIP removes them. TOPTOON has no store listing and so no data safety label to read.

Which one should you pick?

Pick Toomics if you want to know the price before you sign up, want a refund window in case the catalog disappoints, or want to buy a single Store series with coins. The 12-month App Store price of $47.99 comes to about $4 a month, and the all-ages app is a bonus for the non-adult side. Watch the Free Month offer when you cancel.

Pick TOPTOON Plus if its catalog is the one you want and you prefer a single membership with no coin shop in the way. Its cancel route is simpler. Go in knowing that you will see the price only after signing up, that nothing is refundable, and that even the free episodes need an account.

FAQ

Is TOPTOON Plus the same as DAYcomics?

They now lead to the same site. Both toptoonplus.com and daycomics.com redirect to global.toptoon.com, run by TOPCO GLOBAL INC., and the switch for DAYcomics happened in December 2025.

Does TOPTOON still sell coins?

Its FAQ says the coin service was discontinued and replaced by the membership. Coins you already hold can still buy episodes permanently.

Can you get a refund on TOPTOON?

No. Its terms say membership benefits run to the end of the month with no refund, and bought episodes are final. Toomics refunds VIP within 14 days if no VIP content was read.

Does TOPTOON have an app?

We found no official global TOPTOON app in US App Store or Google Play searches, and the site links none. Toomics has store apps, but they carry the all-ages catalog only.

How much is Toomics VIP?

In the US App Store, $8.99 or $9.99 for one month (two listings), $29.49 for six months and $47.99 for twelve. The web price needs an account to see.
