In short
- Toomics sells a VIP subscription: the US App Store lists 1 month at $8.99 or $9.99 and 12 months at $47.99. Store titles outside VIP cost 1 to 3 coins a chapter.
- Lezhin has no subscription. Episodes cost 20 coins and up; on the $9.99 pack of 400 coins (plus 45 bonus), a 20-coin episode is about 50 cents.
- Both keep 18+ titles off the iPhone app. Lezhin's sideloaded Android app, Lezhin Comics PLUS, carries them; Toomics has 18+ series on the website only.
- Toomics has no offline reading at all. Lezhin PLUS downloads titles.
Toomics and Lezhin are the two Korean adult webtoon stores English readers weigh most often, and they charge in opposite ways. Toomics wants a monthly VIP fee and gives you a large shelf for it. Lezhin sells every episode separately for coins and shows the coin price on each series. Which one costs less depends on how many episodes you read in a month. Other head-to-heads sit on our comparisons page.

Catalog and formats
Both sell full-color vertical webtoons, licensed from the artists. Toomics claims "50,000+ episodes" on its home page (episodes, not titles) and sorts them into Drama, Romance, BL, Fantasy, Action, Comedy, Horror, Thriller, Historical and Sci-fi tabs. New chapters arrive weekly per series, according to its help center. The interface comes in 11 languages, from English and Spanish to Thai and Korean.
Lezhin's US store publishes no catalog size. Its Genre + menu has Romance, GL, BL, Action, SF/Fantasy and Drama, and a separate Browse by Tag page lists around a hundred theme tags such as Omegaverse and Romantasy. The store also carries some licensed manhua. For readers who want BL or GL, Lezhin is the one with a GL tab; Toomics has BL but no GL tab.
Explicit content and censorship labels
Neither service publishes a statement about mosaics or uncensored editions, so we cannot tell you how explicit a given title is from the official pages.
Toomics marks graphic series with "a content warning panel at the beginning of the episode", per its help center. Family Safe mode is on by default on the website and hides the adult series until you switch it off. Its terms say Toomics may moderate, alter or remove "excessive violence or non-consensual sexual activities".
Lezhin hides its mature titles until a logged-in adult flips the 18+ switch next to the coin icon. Logged out, the catalog shows cut-down versions labelled "(Introduction)" or "- All-Ages Edition", for example "Roses and Champagne - All-Ages Edition". Lezhin publishes no rule set for the comics themselves; its content policy covers reader posts only.
Free reading
Toomics is close to pay-only. Its help center says only "the first three chapters (sometimes there can be more chapters available) are available for free", and its "Is Toomics free?" answer is blunt: there is no way for users to read our content for free or to get our VIP Memberships / Coins for free
. Gift-box Free Passes turn up on some 18+ series, and there is no free trial.
Lezhin gives away more. The Free menu lists series with free episodes, and ranking entries show counts such as "5 Eps free" or "9 Eps free". A WUF label (a timed free unlock) appears on the Free page, but Lezhin does not explain its rules anywhere we found. Free episodes are readable without an account, according to the App Store listing.
Prices and what an episode costs
Toomics hides its web prices and coin pack sizes behind a login. The US App Store list is the only public price source, and it gives VIP at $8.99 or $9.99 for one month (two rows, without saying which is current), $17.49 or $23.99 for three months, $29.49 for six and $47.99 for twelve. Coin items appear as "Get Coin Package 2" at $9.99 and "Get Coin Package 3" at $19.99, with no coin counts. With chapters at 1 to 3 coins and no published coin price, there is no honest dollar figure for a Toomics chapter. VIP adds 5 Gift Coins a month, which expire at month end.
Lezhin shows the coin price on each series, and its tag list includes 20COINS, 25COINS, 30COINS, 40COINS and 50↑COINS. The App Store pack of 400 coins plus 45 bonus costs $9.99, about 2.5 cents a paid coin:
| Lezhin episode price | Cost on the $9.99 pack (paid coins) | Counting the 45 bonus coins |
|---|---|---|
| 20 coins | about $0.50 | about $0.45 |
| 30 coins | about $0.75 | about $0.67 |
| 50 coins | about $1.25 | about $1.12 |
Lezhin's App Store list mixes packs on two scales (it also shows "20 Coins" for $4.99), and the web coin shop needs a login, so treat these as App Store figures. The PLUS app advertises "Save Up to 26% on Coins Daily" without a price list.
Put the two side by side and the break-even is low. One month of Toomics VIP at $9.99 costs the same as one Lezhin pack, which covers 20 episodes at 20 coins. A year of VIP at $47.99 buys about 1,920 Lezhin coins, or 96 episodes at 20 coins. If you finish a 60-episode series in a month, Toomics VIP is cheaper, provided the series is in VIP and not the coin-only Toomics Store. If you follow two weekly series, Lezhin is.
Our pages on what Toomics costs and Lezhin coin prices go through every pack.
App or website: where the 18+ titles are
This is the biggest practical difference. Toomics' store apps (rated 12+ on the App Store and 13+ on Google Play) carry no adult series at all. Its help center says so plainly: we are unable to support any kind of adult content within our app due to the policies of both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store
. Adult reading on Toomics means the website, on any device.
Lezhin's store apps are also clean (12+ and 13+). On Android, though, Lezhin offers a separate Lezhin Comics PLUS APK from its own site, promising "Access All R-Rated Content!" and noting it is "only available on Android". You install it from outside Google Play. iPhone readers use the website for mature titles, as they would on Toomics. The adult webtoon apps page covers the other services that do this.

Offline reading
Toomics has none: Toomics does not have a feature that allows our users to download our comics or view them offline
. Lezhin PLUS advertises "Download Titles & Read Offline", and Lezhin's terms mention downloads for offline access. These are in-app downloads, not files you keep. Readers who need offline reading for webtoons will find the other options on adult comics offline reading.
Age check
Both checks are self-declarations. On Toomics you answer "Are you over the age of 18? Yes No" to turn off Family Safe mode; logged out, the Yes button leaves the mode on, so it appears to need an account. Readers in Singapore, Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia are told to contact support for a separate verification.
Lezhin sends anyone who clicks the 18+ switch to the login page. What happens after login (a birth date, a checkbox or something else) is not documented publicly. Its terms ask you to affirm that you are over 18 or have a guardian's consent, with a hard floor of 13. Toomics' terms set the floor at 14.
Refunds, cancelling and privacy
Toomics refunds VIP within 14 days if you have read no VIP content, and coins within 7 days if you have used none. App Store purchases go through Apple. Cancelling on the web is a "Cancel VIP Membership" button under Account Settings, but readers who try to cancel are offered a "Free Month" that renews automatically, and the help center says that offer hides the cancel button until the second or third week. Our guide to cancelling a comic subscription has the store routes.
Lezhin has nothing to cancel, since coins are one-off purchases. Its terms allow a refund request within 7 days of buying coins, only if none were used, and warn that coins "may be subject to expiration", with the period shown at purchase. Toomics' bought and bonus coins never expire.
Neither service publishes the name that appears on a card statement. Google Play lists both apps as containing ads; Toomics says VIP removes them.

Which one should you pick?
Pick Toomics if you read many episodes a month, mostly in a browser, and want a single subscription to cover them. At the App Store's 12-month price of $47.99, VIP works out at about $4 a month, less than half the price of one Lezhin pack. Go in knowing the limits: no offline reading, a coin-only Store shelf outside VIP, and a cancel flow that pushes a free month at you.
Pick Lezhin if you follow a handful of series, want to see the price of each episode before you pay, read BL or GL, or use an Android phone and want the mature titles in an app. Lezhin's free episodes go further, and the PLUS app's offline downloads have no Toomics equivalent.
If neither fits, our lists of Toomics alternatives and adult webtoon platforms cover the rest.
FAQ
Is Toomics cheaper than Lezhin?
For heavy readers, yes. One month of Toomics VIP in the App Store ($8.99 or $9.99) costs about as much as 20 Lezhin episodes at 20 coins each. If you read fewer than about 20 episodes a month, Lezhin's pay-per-episode coins come out cheaper.
Can I read Lezhin's mature titles on an iPhone?
Only in a browser. The App Store app carries no R-rated titles, and the Lezhin Comics PLUS app that does is an Android APK. On the website you log in and switch on the 18+ mode.
Does Toomics have offline reading?
No. Toomics says it has no feature for downloading comics or reading offline. Lezhin's Android PLUS app does offer downloads.
How much does a Lezhin episode cost in dollars?
About 50 cents for a 20-coin episode on the $9.99 App Store pack of 400 coins, or about 45 cents if you count the 45 bonus coins. Episodes priced at 30 to 50 coins cost proportionally more.
Do Toomics coins expire?
Bought and bonus coins do not. The 5 Gift Coins that VIP members get each month expire at the end of that month.
