In short

  • Every erotic book in the store has a DRM-free PDF edition next to print, delivered by email. Smut Peddler X, for example, is $18 as a PDF, $35 in softcover and $50 in hardcover.
  • Iris and Angel: One is a free PDF, so you can try the store without paying.
  • The FAQ says We do not offer cancellations, refunds, or returns, while the refund page describes a 30-day return policy. Neither page mentions PDFs.

What Iron Circus Comics is

Iron Circus Comics is a US comics publisher with its own web store at store.ironcircus.com. It publishes original English-language graphic novels, anthologies and collected webcomics, and a large part of the list is erotica. The store footer reads "© 2026 Iron Circus Comics", and the FAQ adds that This shop is managed by White Squirrel, out of Everett, Washington. We found no legal company name on the pages we checked, and no launch year.

Smut Peddler, the erotic anthology series, belongs here too. Its old domain, smutpeddler.com, is parked, and the anthologies are now sold only through the Iron Circus store's Smut Peddler collection.

Who it suits

Iron Circus suits readers who want erotic comics as books, from the publisher, in a file they keep. The catalog leans toward romance, queer stories and consent-focused erotica made by indie creators, so it suits someone who reads porn comics for the characters as much as the sex. It suits less well a reader who wants a big archive for a flat monthly fee: you pay book by book.

The Iron Circus erotica catalog

The store sorts its adult books into two overlapping collections. The Erotica collection lists 38 products and the NSFW collection 37, counts that include bundles and a poster. A third collection holds the Smut Peddler anthologies. Product tags include erotica, romance, femdom, monsters, sci-fi and LGBTQIA+, and product descriptions for adult books open with "ADULTS ONLY".

All of it is western comics in English. There is no manga line, no vertical webtoons and no doujinshi in these collections.

Smut Peddler

Smut Peddler collects consent-driven, queer-friendly short erotic comics from many independent creators. The publisher's home page announces Smut Peddler X back in print. Its prices on the store are $50.00 in hardcover, $35.00 in softcover and $18.00 as a DRM-free PDF, and the other volumes in the collection sit around $15 to $18 as PDFs.

Erotic graphic novels and series

Several of the store's erotic books have their own pages here, with creator, status and how to read them. Letters for Lucardo by Otava Heikkilä is a paranormal romance between Ed, a 61-year-old palace scribe, and Lucardo, an eternally 33-year-old aristocrat; three of a planned four volumes are on sale. Yes, Roya, by C. Spike Trotman and Emilee Denich, is set in 1963 California. Iris and Angel, by Trotman and Amanda Lafrenais, is a short erotic romance comedy in four digital issues. Curvy, by Sylvan Migdal, is a 522-page dimension-hopping erotic adventure collected as The Complete Curvy.

What is free

One erotic issue: Iris and Angel: One is listed as a DRM-free PDF at $0.00, which the store calls a 100% FREE taste. Whether the free download goes through checkout with an email address we did not test; paid PDFs arrive by email, so expect the same.

Curvy is the other way in. The whole webcomic is free on its creator's own site, and the Iron Circus edition is the remastered collected version. More publishers and creators who give some of their work away are on the free adult comics page.

Prices and how buying works

Iron Circus has no subscription, no credits and no trial. Each book has a price per format, and you pay once at a Shopify checkout. The arithmetic is kind to the PDFs. The Complete Curvy is 522 pages for $25, under five cents a page. All three Lucardo volumes cost $24 as PDFs against $45 in softcover. The Iris and Angel bundle at $12.50 costs less than buying issues Two to Four at $5 each.

The FAQ says the store accepts orders from outside the US (Yes, we do!), which matters for the print editions. PDFs have no shipping, so the price is the same wherever you are, give or take your bank's currency fee.

DRM-free PDFs and reading offline

Every erotic book in the store has a variant named "DRM-free PDF". After you pay, the FAQ says You should immediately receive an email from Shopify and/or SendOwl with the download. The file is yours: copy it to a tablet, a phone or a laptop and read it offline in whatever PDF or comic reader you like.

Iron Circus has no reader app for iPhone or Android and no online reader. The store sells and delivers files, nothing more. For other places that hand you files instead of streaming pages, see stores with DRM-free downloads, and for reading them without a connection, offline reading.

The Iron Circus refund policy: two pages, two answers

The store contradicts itself on refunds, and the FAQ is the stricter of its two pages:

We do not offer cancellations, refunds, or returns.

The refund policy page says the opposite: We have a 30-day return policy, provided your item must be in the same condition that you received it. That wording fits physical books. Neither page says anything about PDFs.

A practical reading: assume a PDF is not refundable, since a downloaded file cannot be returned "in the same condition", and use the 30-day page if a print book arrives damaged or wrong. If a refund on a digital purchase matters to you, ask the store before buying, because the published pages will not settle it.

Age check and billing

We saw no age gate on the store or on adult product pages. The only signal is the "ADULTS ONLY" line at the top of each erotic book's description. We also found no statement about characters' ages on the FAQ, refund policy, terms or the product pages we checked; the title pages here note where the books themselves state ages, as Letters for Lucardo does.

Iron Circus publishes no card descriptor. Checkout is a Shopify checkout, and we did not test whether it works as a guest or needs an account.

Publishing with Iron Circus

The publisher's home page links a submissions page: WANNA BE PUBLISHED BY IRON CIRCUS? Click here to find out how! This is book publishing, a pitch to an editor, not an open upload platform, and we could not confirm from the page whether erotica submissions are open now. Artists comparing routes for adult work can start with where to publish adult comics.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • DRM-free PDFs of every erotic book, delivered by email
  • Smut Peddler and other erotica from many indie creators, straight from the publisher
  • One erotic issue free
  • Print editions ship internationally

Cons

  • No subscription and no reader: books one by one
  • The FAQ and the refund page disagree on refunds
  • No age gate, character-age statement or card descriptor published

Alternatives to Iron Circus

If you like the kind of book Iron Circus publishes but want a different way to pay:

  • Slipshine is a members archive of erotic webcomics, many of them LGBTQ, with daily updates and a written statement that every character is at least 18. It costs $29.00 for the first 30 days, then $11.57.
  • Filthy Figments is a subscription archive of original erotic comics focused on queer and women's perspectives, $12.99 a month.
  • Affect3D also sells DRM-free files title by title, for 3D-rendered porn comics instead of drawn graphic novels.

Final verdict

Verdict

Iron Circus Comics is the cleanest way to buy erotic graphic novels and the Smut Peddler anthologies digitally: the publisher sells them directly, the PDFs carry no DRM, and they cost roughly half the print price. Start with the free Iris and Angel issue. Treat every PDF purchase as final, because the store's two refund pages disagree and neither one covers digital books.
