Best Tappytoon Alternatives

Lezhin Comics licenses the same kind of catalog: Korean romance, BL and GL, each with its own genre tab. It beats Tappytoon in two places. On Android, its "Lezhin Comics PLUS" APK from lezhinus.com carries R-rated titles and downloads them for offline reading, which no Tappytoon app does. And Lezhin refunds coins within 7 days of purchase if none were used, against Tappytoon's no-refund rule.

It costs more per episode. Episodes run 20 to 50+ coins, and at 400 coins plus 45 bonus for $9.99 in the US App Store, a 20-coin episode is about $0.50, where a 300-point Tappytoon episode is about $0.38. There is no subscription. iPhone readers still use the website for R-rated titles. The Lezhin vs Tappytoon comparison goes field by field.

Manta charges the same $4.99 a month as Tappytoon Club for its Standard plan in the US App Store, and spends it differently: the plan opens an Unlimited Library of 300+ series, so library titles cost nothing more. Titles outside it take Gems; 1,250 Gems cost $9.99 and comic episodes typically cost 30 to 60 Gems, so about $0.32 for a 40-Gem episode. Gem-unlocked series stay in your library even if they leave Manta.

Manta's 18+ editions are called "[Full ver.]" and, like Tappytoon's, are web only; some are Gem-only even for members. Every user can download episodes in the app for offline reading. Refunds are not offered, so on that point it is no better than Tappytoon. See Manta vs Tappytoon for the full comparison.

Lalatoon gives a patient reader the most free episodes. First episodes are free, and on eligible series one Wait Till It's Free coupon arrives 72 hours after you read an episode; a coupon read stays open for 3 days. Coupons skip the latest 20 episodes. Paid episodes cost a flat 3 clovers, about $0.29 to $0.48 depending on the pack in its January 2025 price notice.

The weak spot is visibility: turning off "All Ages" mode needs an account, so how much of the catalog is 18+ could not be checked. Its BL and GL tabs make it a fair swap for Tappytoon's BL readers.

MangaPlaza is the move for a Tappytoon reader who would try Japanese manga. Its Adult Romance genre has 1,564 titles, all tagged Mature 18+, and Boys' Love 2,140, with 4,431 Harlequin adaptations besides. Premium costs $6.99 a month after a one-time 7-day free trial, and points are 1 cent each. It also lets you clear your reading history.

It is browser only (no app, no downloads), its terms limit it to the United States, and it publishes nothing about mosaics. Chapters and points are not refundable.

Honeytoon has an "Uncensored" section, with uncensored versions sold on its "Ultra" plans or with tokens; the default reading version is the censored one. That is a clearer path to uncut art than Tappytoon's mix of [Steamy] and [Uncut] labels. Locked episodes on the series checked cost 9 coins each, and 2,000 coins cost EUR 49.99 when seen from an EU connection, about EUR 0.22 an episode.

It is web only with no app, subscription prices appear only after sign-up, and cancelling means an email at least 24 hours before renewal. Its genres lean to straight romance and drama.

Toomics sells a VIP membership that reads all VIP series without coins, and claims 50,000+ episodes. In the US App Store the 12-month item is $47.99, the same as a year of Tappytoon Club, while monthly items show at $8.99 and $9.99. VIP can be refunded within 14 days if no VIP content was read, which is more than Tappytoon allows.

Adult series are website only, Family Safe mode is on by default, Store titles still need coins, and nothing can be downloaded.
